CV for an industrial attachment or internship in Ghana
When you apply for an attachment or internship, the organisation knows you're still a student. They want to see that you're reliable, eager to learn and studying something relevant. Your CV should show exactly that.
What to include
- ✓Your contact details: name, phone number, email and town.
- ✓A short profile: your programme, your year of study and the kind of experience you're looking for.
- ✓Education: your programme, school and expected year of completion, plus relevant courses.
- ✓Projects and coursework related to the organisation's work.
- ✓Any experience: earlier attachments, holiday jobs, volunteering or helping in a family business.
- ✓Skills: computer skills, languages and anything the organisation asks for.
- ✓References: a lecturer and one other person who knows your work.
Make it fit the organisation
Read about the company, bank, hospital or ministry first. Then mention the courses, projects and skills that match what they do. A short, matching CV beats a long general one.
Add a short cover letter
Many organisations expect a letter with your CV. Say which programme you're in, how long the attachment is for, when you're available, and why you chose them. Keep it to a few short paragraphs.
